General Description
HYDRA-SPEC PG40 is a low viscosity, water soluble hydraulic fluid that is non-toxic, non-flammable, and biodegradable. HYDRA-SPEC PG40 contains a combination of anti-wear agents and rust inhibitors designed to make it suitable for use in a variety of hydraulic systems.
HYDRA-SPEC PG40 is commonly used whenever oil based hydraulic fluids could cause environmental concerns in the event of a spill. HYDRA-SPEC PG40 is very effective in offshore BOP lines and for sub-sea production control lines. HYDRA-SPEC PG40 is formulated for a broad temperature range. This allows for flexibility in conditions that vary from very low to very high temperatures. The operational temperature range for HYDRA-SPEC PG40 is -25ºC to 135ºC.
Safety
HYDRA-SPEC PG40 is fire resistant by virtue of its water content. If HYDRA-SPEC PG40 should be exposed to a source of ignition, steam would be generated. This steam tends to reduce ignition temperatures and displace oxygen in the hot area thereby inhibiting combustion and suppressing flames.Physical Properties
