OS-70 is a water soluble, highly rinsable combination of mild natural detergents and aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents that work extremely well in fresh or brine water. Properly applied, OS-70 will help make a spill dispersable be wave action or by mechanical agitation of the area with the boat wakes.

OS-70 greatly increases the natural biological decomposition of the oil by separating the oil into small droplets that allow for speedy attack by bacteria and natural physical degradation.

The amount of OS-70 is dependent upon the viscosity and the type of oil in the slick. Normal experience and extensive laboratory tests have shown that one part OS-70 will treat 40 to 60 parts of oil. As with any dispersant, OS-70 should be applied as soon as possible to the floating oil, not to the water around it. Best results are always obtained with dispersants if treatment is begun early.
