Dust Control Agent and Soil Stabilization Agent

Description

DUST-SEAL is a water-emulsified blend of acrylic resins which can be used for a variety of water erosion control problems and dust control in traffic and non-traffic areas. The dried film is non-toxic, will not redisperse in water and has excellent resistance to degradation from alkaline materials or sunlight. DUST-SEAL can be used as a binder to reduce soil erosion along road ways, oil and gas pipelines, logging, or strip mining, therefore promoting vegetation growth for long-term stabilization. DUST-SEAL is been evaluated by the Bureau of Reclamation, the American Council for Reclamation Research and the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Dust-Seal, when used in conjunction with grass seed for re-vegetation, has been found to improve water peculation into the soil, reduce water evaporation and have no adverse effect plant growth. DUST-SEAL is also effective in dust control for stockpiles of coal and other materials, as well as helping to reduce loss during transit in rail cars.

Application

Dilution

Dust Control: Non-traffic areas - 55 gallons of DUST-SEAL to 400 gallons of water per surface acre Traffic areas - 75 gallons of Dust-Seal to 260 gallons of water per surface acre. Stir and apply with conventional spray equipment. (Use large droplets and avoid spraying as a fine mist.)
Coal Piles: To prevent excess water penetration apply 3 coats as follows per surface acre:
- First Coat -Dilute 55 gallons of DUST-SEAL 8 : 1 with water and apply in large droplets.
- Second Coat - Dilute 55 gallons of DUST-SEAL 4 : 1 with water and apply in large droplets.
- Third Coat - Dilute 55 gallons of DUST-SEAL 2 : 1 with water and apply in large droplets.
- Allow 2-3 hours drying time between each coat.
Erosion Control: Coal storage, fine powders (coke and metallic ores); 110 gallons of DUST-SEAL 4 : 1 with water per surface acre. Apply half of total in each of two applications with 1-2 hours drying time between coats. Use at least two spray passes to prevent excessive runoff during application.
Soil Stabilization: per surface acre - 100 gallons of DUST-SEAL, 1500 gallons of water, 600 pounds of wood fiber, and fertilizer and seed as required.
