Hazardous Material Spill or other Dangerous Event

PURPOSE: To establish protocol for timely and uniform dissemination of information to the City of Westwego and surrounding community, as well as Jefferson Parish and the Louisiana State Police concerning a spill or other event concerning hazardous materials stored at 1100 Victory Drive.
POLICY: Company management will make prompt notification of any unusual incident or dangerous condition directly to the City of Westwego Fire Department. The President or his designee will then notify the other local and state offices as appropriate for the event. It is the policy of JMN Specialties, Inc. to release all information to the community as quickly as possible.
PROCEDURES: Verbal notification will be made of any spill or dangerous event to the Westwego Fire Department and other local and state offices as appropriate. The President or Public Safety Director or his designee will make a written report and disseminate it to all required local and state offices of any condition that may impact the safety or good order of the community.
Community information concerning any unusual event will be noted below. As needed, information will be updated until the event is resolved.
